"Although historically Campbell River has not been connected to the Island Rail Corridor, I am in favour of having discussions with local First Nations and the Strathcona Regional District to find solutions to potentially connect to the Island Rail Corridor with the goal of providing accessible transportation from Campbell River all the way to Victoria. There are many services that Campbell Riverites are required to travel down island to access, with very limited options for travel. Having a robust public transportation system that connects local buses and trails to railway stations in our City would be a game changer for accessibility to services down island and for the tourism industry in Campbell River. "
