When Rail is converted to Electric, or started out that way, every kilometer of travel is a climate budget savings! It's high impact electrification!
Could we even cap parts of the rail line with Solar? or integrate Solar in the track?

Faster but Safer!
As tracks are modernized and improved with safety systems for animals, pedestrians and crossings, the speed of the trains running on the line can be greatly increased and unnecessary noise reduced by installing modern control systems!
Awkward passes can be elevated, bypassed, or tunnels can be created through rock if it made sense to the communities involved.
Super elevation can be used on tighter corners to bank the train and increase speeds are well.

Hospital Trains have been around since the beginning of rail, why not make them electric!
They provide emergency services to areas that need it, and could stop at terminals for treatment where getting to a hospital is difficult
They would charge while they service the communities they can stop in!
Would a new terminal be justified by this alone?
